Hot Prospect: Billy Morgan

The 21 year old unbeaten prospect from Canning Town never fails to give a full-on, intelligent performance in the ring. Last week Morgan beat Dan Naylor in his first 6-rounder and still showed, as soon as the ringside interview that he was able to process what he has learned in the fight and begin to build on it for the future.

However the thinking did not take place just at the end of the fighter after the blood and sweat was over. It took place throughout to the extent that Morgan was so ahead in the fight that he decided to try out a change in tactics in order to explore possibilities. Something most other prospects facing their last two rounds of their first 6 rounder would not dare do. This showed an intelligent fighter's brain, active and alert coupled with great 'heart', that x-factor of all combat sports. You cannot train for this, nor can you develop it some other way. Heart is something in your DNA and Morgan has it in abundance.

Morgan would be the first to admit he is very much a work in progress but the TKO Gym are building with the very best quality materials.

Speaking with Billy online, it is clear that this is a guy with tremendous focus. Like most successful boxers, he is prepared to put the hours in.,..and then some until he is satisfied with the day's work. He is a perfectionist, something I know first-hand from designing a fight poster with him. He knows exactly what he wants and how to achieve it.

Add to this the tremendous support Morgan receives, daily, from the TKO gym and it is not difficult to imagine him holding aloft a title belt in the foreseeable future. When that day comes (and it will) I will be happy to say 'I told you so'.
